Requirements

To meet the basic qualifications for this role you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Production Engineer opportunity, you also should have:

Role

You will report to and work closely with the Production Manager in the Special Products unit. This team has a "twin" in another unit. "Special Products" refers to processing persulfates and other raw materials into customized products for customers, and you also will support processing of peracetic acid in liquid form.

In this role you will wear a number of hats and be a "go-getter" for the unit, working on area specific projects as well as working with operations in maintaining a safe, efficient, and effective process and working environment. You'll invest the largest portion of your time interacting with Production Operators to understand their goals and challenges, and making their job easier. This will involve working with Operations Supervisors as well. Much of your focus will be on day-to-day troubleshooting, and you may also contribute to longer-term projects.

More specifically, you will:
  • Troubleshoot process safety, capacity, efficiency and operability issues. This will include determining the nature of issues and contributing to finding possible solutions.
  • Identify and develop process changes to enhance operating reliability and product quality.
  • Make a positive contribution to site safety by involvement in site safety initiatives.
  • Identify and develop process modifications to improve efficiencies of key resources.
  • Identify and develop new process or major process modifications to manufacture new or modified products.
  • Monitor environmental regulations and performance against regulations and participate in designing process or equipment changes that reduce environmental problems.
  • Identify and develop control mechanisms to improve reliability and efficiently of a plant system or part of that system.
  • Specify material requirements for new or modified process equipment.
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes and determine relative costs of these processes versus existing PeroxyChem processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies related to current or potential manufacturing processes and products.
  • Provide reports of process efficiency, key process indicators, and statistical process control data.
  • Work with operators to generate and implement safety and process improvement initiatives.
  • Understand raw material needs, manpower scheduling, and process demands to be an effective back up to Production Manager.
